About Me

Steve

Siekkinen

With my first electric guitar, a Kalamazoo (with a mirror pickguard!)

I was born and raised in Hibbing, MN (Bob Dylan’s hometown!). A few years after I got my first guitar at age 10, I started playing in bands and teaching others.

After high school, I moved to Los Angeles and I graduated from Hollywood’s Musicians Institute, Guitar Institute of Technology (a program to develop professional-level musicianship through performance and total immersion).

Returning to Minnesota, I was the youngest teacher ever hired at a popular music store chain and the only teacher to work out of more than one location. I have been providing instruction since.

I played with a number of local bands before spearheading my questionsinletters’ project, which has released two albums to date:

and

Currently residing in Washington DC, I enjoy seeing where music takes me. Check out my demos to get a glimpse of this path.
